Classical Hybrid

The Preston Thompson Classical Hybrid was designed to be a crossover instrument. Developed for musicians that are seeking a guitar with the brilliance and balance of the finest classical guitars, it also offers several features that contribute to exceptional playability.

Those features include a slightly narrower neck at the nut of 2” and a 16” radiused fingerboard. The neck profile is very comfortable and allows for a quick transition for players accustomed to a narrower neck. The 25.4” scale length will be familiar to many acoustic steel-string players as well.

Built with respect for the most traditional aspects of the classical guitar the Thompson Classical Hybrid is crafted with the finest woods and materials to achieve the best tone possible. As with all Thompson’s every top is hand graduated bringing out the utmost liveliness and character. The braces are hand-carved with precision to promote the most delicate of sound vibrations. The result is an incredibly responsive instrument with a sweet character and sustain. These instruments are built with a Bouchet bracing pattern, which historically over decades have produced superior instruments.

The Thompson Classical Hybrid shown in these photos has been customized with special inlays and details for the owner. As standard, it is available with traditional classical guitar appointments such as wood binding, rounded headstock slots, ebony fingerboard, and rosewood bridge.
