Thompson Original Torches

Simon Haycraft has been very busy designing not only beautiful inlays for custom Thompson guitars, but also developing an array of Original Thompson Torches and other inlays to choose from for your custom build.  (pictured is The Lotus Torch)

Simon has been working at his inlay craft for many years and uses his art background and keen eye for shapes to design images with different stone, pearl and wood materials. See here for more info on Simon’s background.


 ‘The Lotus’  designed with beautiful detail brought forth by the stunning abalone shell. We can vary the materials for the Regency torch – see examples below. The GeoDeco design can also be made with a variety of materials.  The Regency and GeoDeco Torches can have fretboard markers to match, which we call Regency markers.  We can make these torches from a variety of materials too.

All of these TORCHES include the Thompson Logo and are designed for solid headstocks specifically.  The Thistle torch does not include the Logo on front, we put it on the back of the headstock.

REGENCY TORCH

The Regency torch was one of the 1st torches that became popular and recognizable as a Thompson original.  Simon Haycraft created it for Billy String’s guitar with a Jade center.  This torch comes with Regency markers that reflect the materials in the torch for either 18 style dots or 28 style diamonds and squares.

LOTUS TORCH

This torch is delicate and a beautiful compliment to any Thompson guitar.  Made with abalone in a variety of colors this torch is one our favorites for a Brazilian guitar.

GEO DECO TORCH

This deco torch has a versatility that captures either a woodsy look or southwest style. It can be whatever eye capturing color combination that you are looking to adorn your guitar.
