Each guitar model and the tonewood that we build with can lend itself to different playing styles. Our Dreadnoughts capture the power and playability that bluegrass players love for flatpicking. The harder you play the louder it gets – our Adirondack tops and the carving of the tone bars used really showcase this sound. Our OM, 000 (12 and 14 fret – long and short scale) plus other smaller bodied guitars tend to accommodate fingerstyle playing, as these models can produce a more responsive sound with a slightly narrower body depth. We also can build with different top woods that allow for different tones to resonate.
Truth be told you can play fingerstyle on any model of guitar, it is really up to what your preference is for size/shape of the guitar. If you order a custom guitar we can lean one way or another in how we carve and choose our brace stock.
Here are some talented musicians that use our guitars for their fingerstyle playing.
