This house/tree inlay was commissioned by a customer that wanted to honor his grandfather, who also had the last name Thompson. He had heard about our guitars and felt our company was the logical choice for moving forward on a custom guitar. He initially wanted to have a maple tree on the headstock, but when he sent a photo of that particular maple tree in front of the family home, another inlay creation came to fruition.
Here are some of the process photos of all the pieces that were cut and put back together to create this detailed special inlay. Simon used a combination of stone, wood and some pearl.
