This special dreadnought, made with rare mahogany adorned with original inlay and black pearl, has come back around to be sold. It is part of our Timeless Series and is a one-of-a-kind, with a unique Geo Deco inlay design. The current owner has decided to sell it in order to donate part of the proceeds to The Pancreatic Cancer Society in honor of Preston’s life.
This beautiful set of “The Tree” came from a supplier in Sisters, Oregon and showed this set to Preston many years ago. When we were able to acquire the set the crew made this dreadnought with Preston in mind after his passing. Preston was always keen on hearing how this old, rare tonewood sounded.
The sound that “The Tree” delivers, with the master-grade Adirondack top, has excellent note separation and clarity, with a very full bass response. As described by Paul Heumiller, from Dream Guitars, it is a powerhouse of a guitar with the strings being fat and juicy, all of them come roaring out! Listen to Alan Shadd sharing his talents on this Thompson.
If you are interested please contact christine@pktguitars.com and it is also for sale via Dream Guitars. The current owner knew Preston personally and wanted to show his respect by making this donation in his honor.
This one-of-a-kind guitar is priced at $20,085 and 75% of the sale will go to two charities (NPCF and College of Idaho) Thank you for considering this special Thompson dreadnought that sings and shines brightly. Preston would have loved it!
