We have been working on several new guitars for the talented Jon Stickley, Jake Stargel, John Cruz and Brett Bass – we are excited to ship them out soon and can’t wait to hear how they like the sound of their new Thompson.
For us, having our guitars in the hands of players is one of the best ways to showcase what we are all about building here at the shop. The connections that have been made and how they evolve into interested players is serendipitous at times. Someone stops by randomly, knows another musician with a Thompson or heard someone play one on YouTube – however it happens, we are grateful and love to add new music to our repertoire.
This weekend we had a chance to be with Peter Rowan at the Sisters Folk Festival and we talked about the young players he hears on the road and their songwriting ability. There is no shortage of talented musicians that realize the importance of an instrument that not only has play-ability, but a sound that rings true in their ears for inspiration and to compliment what they do. It is their tool and we are glad to be providing those tools with the utmost care taken in our production progress and attentive customer service.
A featured artist on our website means that those folks have a Thompson in their collection of guitars and that we cross promote what we both excel at – making music and instrument building.
The idea that we have more musicians to add in the months and years to come is something special that we look forward too.
Thanks to some of our recent additions, both seasoned and youthful players – Josh Rinkel, Adam McIntosh, Chris Jones, Zach Top, Grace Constable, Jessica Lang, Hunter Fletcher, Mike Gaumer, Joe Ciero and Charlie Whitten.
These performers, like all our featured artists, are dedicated to perfecting their craft and we are here to support them! Be on the watch for their talented songwriting and pickin’ as you play and listen to bluegrass music and beyond!
