Deep Modified Classical Hybrid

The Preston Thompson Deep Modified Classical Hybrid was designed to be a crossover instrument. Developed for musicians that are seeking a guitar with the brilliance and balance of the finest classical guitars, it offers several features that contribute to exceptional play-ability.

This guitar has a similar body shape as the N-20 style and similar to Willie Nelson’s Trigger guitar which was a conversion to steel strings.Β  Β The Thompson model was created with a deeper body and crafted with a forward shifted advance X-bracing pattern unlike the classical guitar from the late 60’s with a ladder bracing formation.

Every top is hand graduated bringing out the utmost liveliness and character. The braces are hand-carved with precision to promote the most delicate of sound vibrations. Familiar to many acoustic steel-string players it features a 25.4” scale length and 14 fret to the body. The result is an incredibly responsive instrument with a sweet character and sustain.Β  It feels like a smaller slope shoulder dreadnought with lots of versatility – strumming or finger-style.

As standard, it is available with a custom rosette of blue fiber/mahogany, red/blue rope top trim, dark pick-guard (Eliatort we call it) tortoise binding, regency markers in blue stone or blood wood.Β  You can have it built with mahogany or rosewood – appointments are the same.Β  You can add at toner top like in the photos on the East Indian Rosewood.

You can also customize the appointments to your liking – message us at sales@pktguitars.com.
