In their April 2017 edition, we were making headlines once again when Acoustic Guitar Magazine released a print and video review of our “Killer Dreadnought”. For their consideration, we sent over our standard D-MA Dreadnought* handbuilt with Mahogany back and sides, Adirondack Spruce top, solid headstock with Thompson mother of pearl logo inlay, one Piece Mahogany Neck, natural nitrocellulose lacquer finish, Style 18 Concentric rings, Tortoise Celluloid binding, simple Ebony Back strip, hand graduated top with advanced X bracing and Old Style 1930’s dot position markers.
“It’s got a huge velocity of sound and great clarity, whether strummed or fingerpicked. It’s robust but not overwhelming bass notes are the perfect match for its clear and singing trebles. And the more I play the guitar, the better it feels.” – Adam Perlmutter, Acoustic Guitar Magazine
“Given the D-MA’s power—no doubt benefitting largely from its Adirondack top—it’s a joy to play even the simplest things on this guitar. The instrument has a quick response and an open voice. Cowboy chords take on an expansive quality, and you can really feel the bass notes vibrating against your chest. Diatonic melodies sound rich and present as well.” – AG
We are thrilled that Acoustic Guitar Magazine has called our Mahogany Dreadnought a mighty guitar because that is exactly what we set out to do when we designed this model and it continues to be the intention behind each guitar handcrafted by our team.
