Helping make it possible for musicians to continue their guitar education is something we jumped on when we heard about this special camp. We made a special D-MA that was part of their silent auction to raise money for scholarships! Thanks Woody, John, Claire and of course Bryan for making it all happen so smoothly!
We were excited be among the green trees that are so different from the pines in Central Oregon and take some time to explore the sweet town of Brevard. We learned about the history of the Brevard Music Center which has been providing education for classical musicians and many other genres of music for over 85 years.
This special guitar camp offered up days of classes and a handful of guitar makers offered up guitars to try out. It was interesting to hear the different sounds each company creates using a variety of tonewoods and models. We were honored to be invited to share what we do way out west!
Being at camp also gave us an opportunity to personally deliver Soraya Sullivan’s new Thompson. Her band The Sullivan Sisters is based out of Chicago, but she was in Brevard working on her guitar picking skills with help from some amazing professionals.
