Make Your Own Thompson
Here in our little shop we keep with tradition in many ways and in others we offer up different appointments to keep our guitars one-of-a-kind offering a variety of original torches, custom inlays, different sunburst and wood binding/design options.
Simon Haycraft has been the lead in so many of these custom options with his design eye and artistic vision. He has shared his knowledge with the team in body building and they all enjoy working together on custom appointments with our clients on certain projects.
We have a handful of clients that have come to the shop to pick out tonewoods and think about designing their guitars, but most correspond via phone, email and text to collaborate. Recently we had a client want a inlay of a specific train on his sinker mahogany 000-14 fret. Here is a short video of the inlay that proves you can gussy-up any tonewood, it doesn’t just have to be a high end Brazilian.
We can make you a guitar to pass on in your family with special meaning or a standard model – all of our guitars will have that signature Thompson sound and craftsmanship. We aim to please and we all enjoy the work taking place here in Sisters Oregon and all the music these guitars are making out in the world!
